Dr. Bob Tells a Story

Launch Morning – After handling a hefty pile of last minute tasks, I was done, ready to launch.

I hit the activate button and launched The Get Wealthy First Program. The angels sang. I felt accomplished.

This has been a seven-month undertaking for me. It started with a single video and built.

As I was getting dressed to head to my office to see my beloved patients, my colleague, Morris’s, voice telling me the Dr. Bob story gently whispered. Ah…

Before I tell it to you, let me say that one of my hungry ghosts is fear that after I launch the program, nobody will be interested. I feared people would meet my seven-months of work with a indifferent yawn.

OK, here’s the story. Dr. Bob, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, says to a fellow member. “Every time I do a 12th step, it’s a success.”

(The Twelfth Step of AA says – 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.)


“Do you mean that every time you went out, the person stopped drinking?” he asked.

“No, every time I went out, I didn’t drink.”

Cool huh!

And that’s the response to my hungry ghost. It doesn’t matter if anyone buys the program for me to be happy. Obviously, I would love people to get the program and to gain the benefits, including you.

But, I have carried the message to others. I have practiced these principles of The Get Wealthy First Program in all my affairs.

Over the last seven months, I have gained a huge reservoir of Deep Wealth. I have gotten wealthy first every day.

My knowingness about Deep Wealth has deepened.

My life is good. My finances are solid even in the world wide Great Recession. I’m healthy. I’m fit. I’m in love with Suzanne, my wife of nearly 40 years, my family, my friends, my healers, my patients and my readers.

I am in Heaven.

The Get Wealthy First Program worked amazingly well for me.

And as I was eating breakfast and contemplating these thoughts, I gazed east down the shoreline towards the skyline of Seattle, a Great Blue Heron flew towards me, gracefully moving it huge wings, then banked right in front of me just in case I had missed the point.

You may not have viewed the Wealth Walk Video from the program yet, but last winter, back at the beginning of my work on the program the heron makes an appearance. It’s a bookend experience.

The heron is one of my favorite totems and represents Zen wisdom and calmness. Even my vanity license plate reflects my honoring. It reads – MSTDRGN, Mist Dragon, a name I have to honor the Great Blue Heron.

Greetings William,

On the Get Wealthy First video page, you ask for
the biggest question or problem we’d like addressed in the GWF Program.
Mine concerns the immediate ‘push-back’ I get from the wounded,
no-longer-innocent part of me that says “Yeah, OK, that’s nice and you’re
feeling wondrous and wealthy now, but you know you’re going to experience pain
again and again in the future. So best not to go off into
fantasy-world.” I can therefore never let myself feel completely the
appreciation and beauty and wealth of the moment. Depending on my phase,
the moment can become either bittersweet, sad or bitter.

I’d
appreciate your thoughts on this.

Great question! Everyone has this problem. I know it may be hard to believe, but many feel this way, too. You may not know because people don’t talk about it.

My evidence that it is so is this short poem by Rumi from page 31 of the Get Wealthy First Program Manual –

Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened. Don’t open
the door to the study and begin reading (that is - go to your job). Take
down a musical instrument.

I have a whole section of the manual addressing this problem many people face. Rumi points the way in the last sentence – sounds like Get Wealthy First doesn’t it?

And I hear you saying…

“Isn’t this ‘just stopping and smelling the roses’ or ‘the best things in life are free?’”

Sure. And the technology of The Get Wealthy First Program takes these time honored truths and turbo charges them, expands them into something that brings you closer to genuine enlightenment.

Sanctification of Landscape

Sanctification of Landscape

Have you noticed that being on some landscapes feels good? I have just returned from a sabbatical in Santa Barbara, CA. My mom trained me to appreciate parks, so for me, travel mainly includes spending time in parks. On this trip, I spent time in two of my favorites Trust for Public Land (http://tpl.org) projects – Carpinteria Bluffs and Ellwood Mesa with its Butterfly Preserve.

These two places are basically bluff top meadows overlooking the Pacific. What’s not to like? But these places are special. Adjacent properties don’t have the same warm embracing energy, the juju isn’t as good. The plant and bird life is virtually identical. What is it that makes TPL land feel so good?

I say, “It’s sanctification and ownership.”

Sanctification is the process of setting something apart. Apart from what, you ask? Well, apart from the mundane. Apart from the commercial. Apart despoilment.

Sanctified to what – to the sacred, the holy, to that which feeds the soul. Obviously, these two properties do all that. Just look at people’s faces.

Another favorite TPL project lies in the midst of a major urban setting – The Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle.

This gem was plucked from the hands of developers. More interesting perhaps is its restoration from a horribly toxic site to a winner of environmental awards for its accomplishments. But so what? This speaks to the mystery, but that’s not it. How has it become a place that feeds your soul?

A kind of alchemy works to transform a mundane place into a sanctuary. The other ingredient is ownership. This park is owned by the Seattle Art Museum, all well and good for them. But it’s MY park. My park. As are the two in Santa Barbara. They are mine.

And hundreds of others feel just the same. We each own it as individuals and care for it. Love it. Sure, I am willing to entertain the notion of a ‘we’ owning it, but if everyone else disappeared I would still hold them in my heart as mine. I would still steward them.

TPL does a remarkable job of creating this kind of ownership and this kind of sanctification. I honor TPL and give thanks for this sanctification. You can find TPL project in your home state here. http://tpl.org
