Why This Poem?

My co-author, Char Sundust, performed a lovely wedding last week.  Each of the 170 attendees received a little beautiful scroll tied with a ribbon.  And Char says, “I took one and opened it.  Inside was your wonderful Love Poem For Mature Hearts.  My heart was so moved...”

Love Poem for Mature Hearts

Love is foolish.

Certain loss waits for you.

So what!?

 Throw yourself away,

And love.

Why would someone choose this poem?  Would you?

Why would I write this for a couple in their 50s getting married?  How is this a blessing?

Can you perceive why I designated “for mature hearts” in the title?

Suzanne and I have been married 40+ years now.  With each passing year, it is more certain that one of us will die and the other will experience “certain loss” and pain.

How much suffering we experience will depend on how much we can throw ourselves away and continue to love in the face of unimaginably huge loss.

Facing this “certain loss” currently drives my spiritual practices.  I continue to open and soften my heart daily.

Writing poetry helps you to face your life with a wide open heart.  Our book God, Death, and Poetry shares poems from our hearts and shows you how you can use poetry to heal and love.

Don’t miss the short video conversation with Char and me.

Blessings,

William

Discover Why She Took A Risk?

Why would you make yourself vulnerable?  Under what circumstance would you do that?

When we recorded our Living with Magicality Program, Krysta Gibson put herself at risk.  Why would she do that? (http://bit.ly/ivLwaO)

When we recorded our podcasts, I took the same risk.  Why would I do that?

Here’s what Krysta says.  As you read this, see what resonates.  How’s it feel in your belly?  In your heart? –

This is the only time I have been involved in a project where I shared some of my own processes in the way I do here. Although it felt somewhat vulnerable to do, I am happy with the outcome. Those who listen to these conversations will hear a distillation of many years of spiritual work put forth by two people who do their best to walk their talk and now are willing to share some of the results with you.

Beyond what Krysta says, let me add.  Vulnerability is what creates love and belonging.  If you put yourself at risk, and share your soul, you create closeness.  Look into your life and see if that feels true.

Whenever someone makes themselves vulnerable and shares their soul with me, I feel closer to them.  Don’t you?

And I hasten to add, be smart – share only with those that have earned the right.

That’s part of why our sharing is a bit riskier – these audio programs are public.  We cannot filter for just the safe people.

But if we don’t model being vulnerable in this public way, how can we be of service?

Now, Go listen to the sample from the podcast and get the complete fourth session on Practices if you like what you hear in the sample.  Our gift.

Walk in beauty with courage,

William

P.S. What if one of these practices, just one made a difference in your life?

You will be happy you listened.  Go for it.

Sacred Oatmeal???

In the first of our four Living with Magicality
conversations Krysta Gibson talks about a
surprisingly, cool transformational tool – eating
oatmeal. (http://goo.gl/uLpMI)

“How’s that?” you ask?

It is cool, and I use it too. It reminds me of
the silly joke – Buddha goes up to the hot dog
vendor and says, “Make me one with everything.”

Ho HoHo.

As you are eating your oatmeal or your food of
choice, consider …

Where did it come from? How many people were
involved to bring you your breakfast?

Maybe a spouse. Certainly, farmers. And
truckers. And the guys that built and maintained
the tractor. And the guys that made the tires for
the tractor. And the guys that delivered the
tires to the tractor plant. It goes on…

And Nature cooperated to bring you your breakfast.

All the waters of the world danced their water
cycle to make the rain that watered the fields.

And the earth that carries the soil. Where did it
come from? Well, it came from an exploding star.

That same star created every atom in your body.

If you see clearly, everything in the universe
works in harmony to bring you your breakfast. You
are very special. And you are one with
everything.

can benefit you.

Would You Like to Live a Magical and Practical Life?

How Would You Like to Live a Magical – and Practical – Life?

Obviously, you’d love it.

But do you know how?

In four wonderfully revealing conversations, Krysta Gibson and I tell you how you can live a magical life while fulfilling all your practical needs in the real world.  We call it Living with Magicality!

Click to Continue => http://goo.gl/uLpMI

Krysta Gibson and I have been colleagues for over 20 years and we have both actively been exploring how to live magical lives.  And we have been coaching others for decades.

We decided to record four conversations.  They were conversation of exploration.  That means, neither of us knew where we would go or what we would find.

We expected to discover or uncover treasures that we couldn’t predict from our day to day travels.  And beyond what we already knew.

We succeeded.

Listen in as you hear us discover treasures.  You can tell by the tone of our voices that we find delight in the discoveries.  And you can hear us pause as a new light of awareness starts to glow.

So what?

You can learn right along with us how to live with Magicality.

It’s cool.

You can adopt the ideas you resonate with and move closer to living a magical life you love.  Or enhance the magical life you are already living.

Join us.  Discover with us.  You’ll be delighted too.

You can find out what gets explored on each of the podcasts here…

Announcing God, Death, and Poetry

"There is a wisdom in the words that poets speak – the truth. This book teaches us how to access that truth. William and Char take us to a place through their own truth telling to explore that mystery ourselves.

"They show us how to access a place where we are in contact with something greater within ourselves. We are always whole, and we are always on a journey toward greater wholeness.

"This book is a journey, poet or not… a gift to the soul for that journey and a place to gather courage to nurture our gifts into a state of aliveness."

Char Sundust, a long time friend and shaman, and I have published a book -- God, Death, and Poetry: A Magically Sacred Way to Make Your Life Rich, Deep, and Whole

The quote above is from the back cover. It says it all, well, not all. Watch the video.
